About the Faculty
The faculty was established within the University of Departments in Bani Waleed during the 2000–2001 academic year with only two departments: Plant Production and Animal Production. Over subsequent years, following its affiliation with 7th of October University, the faculty expanded to include four scientific departments: Department of Soil and Water, Department of Animal Production, Department of Plant Protection, and Department of Horticulture, in addition to the General Department which brings students together during their first year of study for foundational preparation. At the beginning of the 2012/2013 academic year, three new scientific departments were inaugurated (Department of Field Crops, Department of Food Science & Nutrition, and Department of Agricultural Economics), further advancing higher education and scientific research to serve the agricultural and environmental sectors in Libya and support the surrounding community.

Since higher education by its nature and functions impacts all institutions and sectors of society and serves as the ultimate investment in building consciousness, the Faculty of Agriculture at Bani Waleed—building on the pioneering role of Bani Waleed University in disseminating and developing knowledge across various fields—strives to spread academic knowledge and contribute to human development. The objectives of the Faculty of Agriculture do not lie solely in graduating students; rather, its significance lies in being a center for research and professional development, with the mission of providing society with qualified scientific and technical personnel and offering services to it. Thus, education is no longer merely a set of courses that students must take, but rather a continuous and ever-renewing contribution. The publication of the faculty guide aims to introduce the faculty, its academic programs, and specializations, as well as to highlight the academic and community activities undertaken by this long-standing institution. In this context, the Faculty of Agriculture aspires to establish partnerships with various community institutions to achieve a balance between society's need for graduates on one hand, and educational outcomes on the other. Cooperation between universities and community institutions is one of the primary means of achieving synergy between education, development needs, and global advancements. Therefore, we are deeply committed to preparing graduates who are exceptionally qualified both academically and practically, capable of taking the initiative, competing, and achieving competence and effectiveness in serving the community.Vision

Mission
Building on the pioneering and active role of Bani Waleed University in promoting and advancing science across various fields of knowledge, the Faculty of Agriculture pursues a clear mission regarding its role in higher education and scientific research, serving the agricultural and environmental sectors in Libya as well as the surrounding community. This is achieved by adopting high-level academic programs, contributing to research efforts, and providing research institutions with qualified, specialized human resources to achieve optimal investment in human capital.

Admission & Registration Requirements
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the required specialization with a grade not less than "Good".
- Pass the admission exams and personal interview (if any) decided by the competent department.
- Provide the required documents in accordance with the regulations of the University's Postgraduate Studies Administration.
