About
The primary objective of establishing this educational institution was to meet the community’s need for qualified professionals to fill teaching positions at the elementary and middle school levels.
The faculty went through several phases before becoming the faculty of Education under the University of Bani Waleed, as follows…
1. In the 1997–1998 academic year, a decision was issued by the Secretary of the former General People’s Committee for Education and Scientific Research to establish the Higher Institute for Teacher Training, which awarded a three-year higher diploma.
2. Subsequently, a decision was issued by the former General People’s Committee for Education and Scientific Research to change the program to a four-year system awarding a licentiate and a bachelor’s degree.
3. In the 2004–2005 academic year, a decision was issued by the former General People’s Committee for Education and Scientific Research to change the name from the Higher Institute to the Faculty of Education, which was affiliated with 7 October University. The college expanded its academic departments, bringing the total to 14.
4. In the 2012–2013 academic year, the faculty was transferred to Zaytouna University until a decision was issued by the Prime Minister to establish Bani Walid University, and the Faculty of Education became one of the educational institutions of Bani Walid University. It further expanded its academic departments to include 18, with a commitment to producing professional and technical graduates—namely, national cadres—to meet the needs of society as required by the labor market in various educational specializations.
