Faculty of Humanities and Applied Sciences (Al-Mardum)

Excellence in Humanities and Applied Sciences & Knowledge Building

About the Faculty

The Faculty of Humanities and Applied Sciences is one of the academic faculties of Bani Waleed University, headquartered at Al-Mardum branch, which was established in 2011 to serve the community of Al-Mardum and neighboring regions. Its main goal is to provide university education near students' places of residence, easing the burden of commuting to the main university campus in Bani Waleed. The creation of this branch was part of an expansion strategy to establish regional branches and study halls meeting local educational demands and expanding higher education accessibility.

During its initial founding phase, the faculty was administratively affiliated with Al-Zaytouna University (formerly 7th of October University), until its affiliation was transferred to Bani Waleed University following Cabinet Decree No. (193) of 2015 regarding the establishment of Bani Waleed University as an independent public university.

The faculty houses several academic departments tailored to community and labor market needs, including: the Department of Arabic Language, the Department of English Language, the Department of Islamic Studies, the Department of Accounting, the Department of Biology, and the Department of Physics, alongside other specialized departments launched according to academic requirements.

The faculty celebrated the graduation of its first cohort in 2015 and has since contributed to preparing qualified professionals across humanities and applied disciplines. It serves as an important center for conducting examinations and academic activities for students in the region, fulfilling its mission to deliver distinguished university education, support scientific research, and serve the community.

Dean's Message

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

I am pleased to welcome you all to the Faculty of Humanities and Applied Sciences – Al-Mardum, an academic institution that forms a fundamental pillar in Bani Waleed University's journey toward advancing higher education and scientific research. Our faculty is distinguished by a unique character that merges two essential pillars in human knowledge: the Humanities, which build human thought, refine identity, and deepen understanding of society, history, and language; and the Applied Sciences, which equip students with scientific and technical tools to provide practical solutions to modern challenges and drive development. We prioritize educational quality and academic excellence, striving to foster a stimulating learning environment supported by modern curricula and tools that cultivate critical thinking, scientific analysis, and innovation. Our goal extends beyond granting academic degrees to shaping well-rounded graduates—empowered readers, passionate researchers, and responsible community leaders. Furthermore, we attach great importance to scientific research by encouraging faculty members and students to conduct field and applied studies that serve the local environment and meet society's needs. Dear students, The faculty is your space for learning and discovery; make your university journey an opportunity to build the future through diligence and hard work. We—the leadership, academic staff, and administration—are here to support you and open horizons for your success.
