About the Faculty
The Faculty of Law is one of the faculties in Bani Waleed city, established in the academic year 2000/2001 under the name "University of Departments" pursuant to General People's Committee Decree No. 308 of 2000, responding to the region's essential need for specialized legal cadres. It continued as a Law Department within the University of Departments until becoming an independent faculty affiliated with 7th of October University in 2004/2005, following the restructuring of higher education which merged the University of Departments in Bani Waleed and Misrata into a single university (General People's Committee Decree No. 2 of 2005). This organizational structure continued until October 2011, when universities and faculties were reorganized under the Steering Committee of Bani Waleed Faculties. In June 2012, affiliation transferred to Al-Zaytouna University. Subsequently, a branch of Al-Zaytouna University was created in Bani Waleed until October 2015, when Bani Waleed University was established by Cabinet Decree No. 193 of 2015. The Faculty of Law has consistently sought to provide the city with law graduates and qualify them for community integration in alignment with their academic qualifications and the faculty's vision, mission, and objectives.

The measure of a nation's progress lies in its scientific advancement across various fields, its dedication to development, and the efforts exerted in the pursuit of knowledge to maximize its benefits for community service. The Faculty of Law stands as a fundamental pillar and milestone of education, which must be given utmost attention and care to dependably graduate qualified cadres capable of driving societal growth and development across diverse fields. Over more than two decades, the faculty has graduated qualified cohorts of young men and women exceeding 1,000 students, striving to keep pace with modern developments and adapt to today's advanced world. We work tirelessly to maintain excellent performance and elevate the educational process to top standards. We believe this goal can only be attained through dedicated work by the faculty and unwavering support from the university to overcome obstacles, ensuring continuous progress toward academic quality and excellence. Furthermore, the faculty intends to launch postgraduate programs in Public Law, Criminal Law, and Islamic Sharia in accordance with applicable regulations. Responsive to community needs, the faculty has also opened study centers in the Tninai and Al-Mardoum areas starting from the 2023/2024 academic year. Students at the faculty study Sharia and legal subjects that enable them to comprehend rights, duties, and the true concept of justice, helping realize citizens' aspirations for a state of institutions, freedoms, equal opportunities, and rule of law.Vision

It focuses on developing postgraduate studies, promoting scientific research, and disseminating legal culture, working to consolidate the values of justice, human rights, and community service through scientific and advisory activities, while building academic and research partnerships that enhance its position as a center of legal excellence and community service.
Mission
The Faculty of Law at Bani Waleed University is a public Libyan educational institution dedicated to preparing highly distinguished legal graduates who effectively meet local and regional market demands for specialized legal expertise across public and private institutions. Admission & Registration Requirements
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in the required specialization with a grade not less than "Good".
- Pass the admission exams and personal interview (if any) decided by the competent department.
- Provide the required documents in accordance with the regulations of the University's Postgraduate Studies Administration.
