About the Faculty

The Faculty of Science is one of the faculties at Bani Waleed University, located in the center of Bani Waleed city. It was established in 1991. The faculty building is situated within the main college complex and contains 7 lecture halls and 12 laboratories. The faculty comprises 7 scientific departments: Department of Mathematics, Department of Chemistry, Department of Physics, Department of Botany, Department of Zoology, Department of Geology and Environmental Sciences, and Department of Preparatory Sciences. The faculty awards the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in the aforementioned specializations.

Dean's Message

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the most noble of prophets and messengers, his family, and all his companions.

I feel immense pleasure as I write this brief address to introduce the Faculty of Science—an institution established by the community to provide specialized scientific cadres that keep pace with modern development in Libya and meet society's needs for scientific expertise across all fields and levels. In this faculty, we strive to push our students toward achieving optimal performance in support of contemporary requirements and development horizons. I must also express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the heads of scientific departments, esteemed faculty members, teaching assistants, technicians, and staff who have consistently remained committed to delivering the finest educational services to our students.

Vision

The Faculty of Science aims to establish a distinguished scientific foundation for basic sciences through outstanding study plans and programs that meet international academic standards. These programs produce graduates capable of competing in the labor market and keeping pace with the remarkable advances in scientific research and technology. Furthermore, the faculty works to promote a culture of innovation in basic sciences, stay open to community requirements, and fulfill societal needs to achieve a unique scientific standing capable of fulfilling academic accreditation standards.

Mission

The Faculty of Science aims to deliver advanced educational programs across basic science disciplines to provide society with scientific competencies and specialized cadres trained in modern scientific techniques. These graduates are qualified to compete in the job market, conduct scientific research and studies, and build a technological research base essential for advancing society, serving its needs, and solving its challenges.

Accurately identifying genuine community requirements as a launching pad for successful community service at local and international levels.
Building bridges of research cooperation and connecting with advanced research schools to train researchers with applied mindsets capable of producing modern technologies.
